Introducing Erie Chiropractor Dr. Troy W. Zacherl D.C., P.C.
My mom said, "Chiropractic helped you sleep through the night as a toddler!"
“What happened the first year in college effected my entire future. I was an undergraduate at Penn State Erie, studying Engineering and on my way home after class one winter evening. I never expected a car to loose control as the snow heavily came down that night. The car hit my car head on and drastically changing my life!”
“I suffered serious injuries and the hospital determined I needed to be treated by a specialist in Pittsburgh. With the snow storm, it was impossible for a helicopter to fly, so I was driven by ambulance. Unfortunately, I had to wait 4 days for surgery and developed a neuropathy that both drugs and pain management intervention were ineffective in treating the hip and radiating pain to my foot.”
“As I began the process of learning to walk again with physical therapy, I found my process to be slow and not as helpful as I wanted. I decided to research and rehab myself, and thus stumbling back into the world of chiropractic” .
“That's when I decided to become a Chiropractor!”
He was accepted at Life University, Georgia. During his four years at Life, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care with the 1996 Olympic Athletes in the Life University Campus. After graduating, he also worked with the Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, WCW Wrestler, and PGA Golf Professionals. In 1999 Dr. Zacherl worked in South Carolina and then returned to the Erie area to establish his practice.
“We love skeptics,” smiles Dr. Zacherl.
“I still remember the concerns and apprehension my wife talked about having before she went to a chiropractor for the first time. So we make it a point to explain everything in advance, answer questions and attempt to over communicate. Patients appreciate that.”
Dr. Zacherl is married to Lorraine and they have two children, Kallah and Chloe. Both children were born at home and are being raised wholistically. (If that sounds interesting, be sure to ask Dr. Zacherl to explain!)
Dr. Zacherl loves to golf and enjoys bike riding with his family. Lorraine enjoys yoga and tennis. She spend some of her time planning events with the Moxie Moms Group. Kallah is busy with golf, tennis, ballet and getting involved with the Erie Playhouse. Chloe is the baby and enjoys exploring and learning. They love to spend time having fun with family and friends and volunteering with a number of charities and organizations too.
The Zacherl family leads a healthy lifestyle that includes: exercise, natural foods and whole food supplements. Their exercise regime includes: weights, swimming, biking, along with other cardio exercises. They avoids refined and processed foods, toxic chemicals in their home, and limit their impact on the environment.
